MC REF V – The Mono Channel Reference V - A true standard
The culmination of years of design experience has finally lead to this - The MC REF V Phono stage by Whest Audio.
It is unlike any other phono stage ever designed. The MC REF V is primarily designed as a moving coil phono stage with gain starting at 53dB.
The gain stages are Class-A bipolar and uses a higher than normal voltage rail to achieve its staggering dynamic performance.
The 2 boxes are actually 2 totally individual gain blocks, each with their own power supply. Each gain block contains 40 hand built and hand trimmed
Whest voltage regulators for near battery like impedance. The resulting effect is vinyl reproduction like you've never heard before.
If what we all want is a system that lacks any sense of 'electronics' either in valve/tube or transistor format then we have arrived.
The large scale dynamics along with a 'real' life size soundstage are just 2 small aspects that set the MC REF V apart from the crowd. Add to this it's amazing resolving power
